We certainly believe that nature makes us happier, healthier, and more creative! At Ohio Explored, we like to spend as much time in nature as possible. It heals our minds and bodies. That is why we are so excited about this upcoming event at Cincinnati Nature Center!
On March 18th, Cincinnati Nature Center is welcoming award-winning journalist and author Florence Williams as she discusses compelling findings outlined in her newest book, The Nature Fix: Why Nature Makes Us Happier, Healthier, and More Creative. Nature serves as a welcome reprieve from the endless demands and constant stimuli of modern life. She explores what current research indicates about the myriad health benefits of the great outdoors. What do these findings mean for a society that is increasingly disconnected from nature, and what can we do about it? Join us to share in the discussion!
Florence Williams is a journalist, bestselling author, podcaster and public speaker whose work focuses on the environment, health and science. She is a contributing editor at Outside Magazine and a freelance writer for the New York Times, New York Times Magazine, National Geographic, The New York Review of Books, Slate, Mother Jones and numerous other publications.
Following the lecture, Dr. Cory Christopher, Director of the Center for Conservation will moderate an open discussion between the presenter and the audience. Moving beyond the traditional Q&A, audience members will have the opportunity to network with each other about local initiatives relevant to the topic, and share ways that everyone can contribute.
